Ian and Sarah tied the knot this past weekend, and the day couldn’t have been better!  I fell in love with this couple when we first met last year, and I’m so honoured to have been chosen to document their special day!

We started the day with a first look (which is when the couple chooses to see each other in a special private moment prior to the ceremony).  It was so romantic the way Ian pulled Sarah close and hugged her … and you could tell that as soon as they saw each other all of the stress and anticipation leading up to the big day just melted away.  I will always be a supporter of doing a “first look” … for a long list of reasons … but photos like these are at the top of that list.

We stayed at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington for the remainder of the formal photos.  The indoor Mediterranean garden is a great choice for winter wedding photos.

Ian & Sarah’s sweet son Owen looked oh so dapper in his skinny suit pants with his hair slicked to the side just like daddy … love that kid!!!

And what an awesome bridal party!!  I had such a blast with you guys!!  Thanks for the memories …

We ran outside for a few more photos … though it was quite chilly, so that didn’t last very long, lol.  Thanks for being such good sports though ladies … short strapless dresses and not a single complaint!

Ian and Sarah are both big Simpsons fans.  I don’t watch the show myself, but I’m assuming if you do you’ll appreciate Ian’s fantastic cufflinks.

After wrapping up with the formals, we made out way to the Atrium in Burlington.  This was my first time shooting there, and I was definitely impressed!  Beautiful (well lit) facility, amazing food, great staff … 2 thumbs up from me.

Sarah looked radiant walking down the aisle in her open-back lace gown … and Ian couldn’t have been happier to marry the love of his life!

In lieu of a traditional guest book … they had everyone sign a gorgeous black guitar.  What an awesome idea!!

After the beautiful ceremony, we kicked off the reception … everyone had a blast!!

Congratulations Sarah and Ian!!  I wish for you a long and happy marriage, and many loving memories with your precious little family.  Give Owen a squeeze for me … I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to him on Saturday.
