I just fell in love with this couple the very first time I met them!! I am so honoured that they chose me to document their big day!!
Congratulations Amanda & Simon … I truly hope we get to work together for many years to come!!
Amanda offered some advice for couples who are anxious/nervous about their wedding photos:
“Let loose and be yourself! It sounds difficult but it’s exactly what you have to do. Meet with different photographers and ask a bunch of questions (come with a list). Pick the one you feel most confident in because the nervousness and anxiety will go away when you have a special connection with your photographer. If you trust them, it makes the wedding day so much easier!”
Amanda describes her stunning gown:
“The dress is a vintage-inspired ballgown with ivory tulle and lace on a silk champagne underskirt. The champagne and ivory meld together to give the gown a pinky hue. The illusion neckline and back are embroidered to create, what my mother-in-law likes to call a garden growing up my back. Perfect for the Paletta Mansion Wedding! The veil belonged to my late mother, Mary, and was dyed with tea to try and better match my dress. I was so happy to have that part of her with me on my wedding day!”
Amanda’s incredible shoes were from Irregular Choice.
Look at this magnificent cake from Lipstick Baker.
Amanda describes how she felt when walking down the aisle:
“When I saw Simon, it felt absolutely magical and surreal! I had butterflies in my stomach and my knees were weak. It was like meeting him for the first time all over again!”
Simon and Amanda talk about their favourite moment of the day:
“We absolutely loved our ceremony! Judith, our officiant, was so amazing to work with. She guided us every step of the way and worked so hard on our ceremony to make it so special and unique to us. As our friend Simon B. told us, ‘She made us laugh, she made us cry… it was better than Cats!”‘
Officiant was Judith Twells.
Florals were courtesy of Satellite Garden Centre and Flower Market.
“Simon and I chose the acoustic version of Everlong by the Foo Fighters as our first dance song. We both love the Foo Fighters and we sing Everlong together whenever we hear it. We think that song fits us perfectly, so we figured why not use it for our first dance?”
