Met these two and their crazy pup Emma last week for their engagement session. Can’t wait for their wedding in March!!
I asked Chantel to tell me how Ian proposed …
“I knew we would get married one day as we had talked about it together. I definitely wasn’t excepting it. We has just finished selling our house after a chaotic deal had fallen through earlier in the summer and we were going to England and Iceland with his parents to visit family for some milestone birthdays. While visiting family in England, we decided to go to London for a few days, as we wanted to get away just the two of us and I wanted to reconnect and visit with friends who were still living there. Plus, it’s one of our favourite cities. We got a hotel right by Hyde Park so we could be close to everything – there is still so much we haven’t done. It was abnormally hot for a fall day and we decided embrace it and to have a picnic in the park. We rented a rowboat and bought sandwiches. Before I know what’s going on, Ian is one knee in the middle of the boat leaning towards me. I just remember looking at him, saying yes and wanting to jump around in the boat! Apparently, everyone had been in on the whole thing! Ian’s had smuggled the ring to England in his suitcase. His grandpa almost ruined it when we first arrived – thank goodness for jet lag, as I didn’t even hear a thing. Then in the hotel room the night before, the ring box fell out of his bag and I believed his cover story of dropping his universal adapter. Ian didn’t have a plan other than doing it while on the trip.”
