May 23, 2012
This past weekend was my first wedding of the year, and boy did 2012 start off with a bang! Blake and Lyndsey are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting … and their wedding day was nothing short of perfection!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the wedding party looked phenomenal, we were on schedule with extra time to spare all day long, and the personal touches and details put into this wedding were brilliant!
We started the day at the Crown Royal Hotel on King St. where the entire bridal party got ready. (I must make mention of how AWESOME it is when couples choose to get ready at the same hotel! Super convenient and very time efficient for photographs!)
Blake and Lyndsey opted to do a “first look” which is when the bride and groom get a special, private moment to see each other prior to the ceremony. This also means that all of the formal photos can be taken before the ceremony as well, which means that guests won’t have any waiting period between the ceremony and cocktail hour.
This first look (as many do) brought me to tears. I blamed it on my pregnancy hormones, but no doubt the true reason for the “dust in my eye” was the true joy on their faces and their overwhelming love for one another! Let’s be honest … I’m a sucker for romance!
Now we headed over to the Steam and Technology Museum for some formal photos. Thank goodness for the spots of shade we were able to find, cuz the sun was unrelenting!
What a good lookin’ bunch they are, aren’t they?
Ummm … could you guys BE any cuter??
The ceremony and reception were held at the Hamilton Waterfront Centre (beautiful place)! And the food … FYI … to die for!!
Blake’s sister made these gorgeous (and DELICIOUS) cupcakes!! A baker I definitely am not …
Lyndsey and flower girl Aubrey eagerly wait for their cue to walk down the aisle …
Grandpa couldn’t be there in person, but thanks to modern technology and Skype, he was still able to watch his granddaughter walk down the aisle.
The reception commenced with the happy couple’s first dance … to the first song that Blake played for Lyndsey when they started dating … awwww.
After dinner we ran outside for a couple quick sunset pictures on the dock.
And then we all let our hair down for a fun evening of dancing. These people sure knew how to party!! 🙂
Blake and Lyndsey, I couldn’t be happier for you!! I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity to be a part of your day!! It is definitely one that I will never forget. 🙂
I wish you a long and happy life together as husband and wife!
Be sure to stay in touch!
xoxo
