My first wedding of 2018 … Chantel and Ian, you were an absolute blast to work with!! The whole day, from getting ready all the way to the reception were all held at Pillar & Post in the beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Here are a few words of advice from Chantel about how she tackled the wedding planning process …
“We were engaged for a year and a half before our wedding day. We took the engagement to plan the wedding in slow stages. We decided to tackle the big choices right away by choosing a location and then a venue as we couldn’t believe how early they book up. From there we went to a few different local wedding shows to look for photographers and officiants. I used a checklist from a wedding book to gage our timeline to have stuff in order. I will say doing things slowly and over a long period of time helped keep the week before the wedding calm, organized and relatively stress free.”
The beautiful florals were provided by Clippings.
Chantel talks about finding her gorgeous gown at Poffie Girls Dress Boutique …
“I absolutely loved my dress. I had looked in multiple stores around the GTA and had fallen in love with this one particular style of dress but not the dress itself. I was ready to settle and buy one of the ones that met most of my wish list until Ian suggest I wait and go looking in South Carolina during our visit to his parents. I showed the picture of the dress I liked and the consultant brought out my dress. It was the first dress that made me feel like a bride and I couldn’t stop smiling in it. I loved how it had a classic but vintage feel to it. The only thing that I was apprehensive about was the train – anyone who knows me, knows that I am super clumsy. However, I’m glad I took the chance to wear something different to my usually strapless style.”
Chantel describes the “first look” with her groom …
“I wasn’t feeling nervous until I started to get ready, and when my family arrived. I knew I wanted to do a first look to settle myself before the ceremony and have that moment to ourselves. Waiting was the hardest part and walking down to where Ian was both exciting and anxious. I felt a complete wave of emotion but most of all a sense of relief when I saw Ian. ”
Chair covers were provided by Simply Beautiful Decor.
The DJ for the evening was Steve Gardiner of Hammer DJ Services.
