I met Sarah at Maison Fritz Salon & Spa where she works as a hair dresser. I have photographed many wedding parties there in the past, so when Sarah got engaged, I was so glad that she contacted me! Jacob and Sarah’s wedding day was absolutely perfect! Let’s start at the beginning …
Sarah and the girls got ready at her mom’s house. What a gorgeous dress!! Sarah, you looked radiant!!
Jacob and the guys got ready at Jacob and Sarah’s house. My awesome second shooter Barbara got some great shots of the handsome gentlemen.
This ceremony was one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve ever been to. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place as Sarah walked down the aisle. I even had a hard time holding it together … thank goodness I had my camera to hide behind!
After the romantic ceremony we went to the Royal Botanical Gardens and got some formal shots in Hendrie Park. The clouds rolled in … but the rain held off until the very end.
What a good lookin’ bridal party!!
We even got some fantastic shots with Sarah and Jacob’s handsome little furry friend Oscar. You might remember Oscar from their engagement session as well … he likes to be where the party’s at!
You two are absolutely adorable!!
It was calling for rain all day, but it held off right until the perfect moment. We were finished all of our formal pictures and just heading back to the cars (umbrellas in tow), and it started to drizzle. Had it held off another 10 minutes we would not have gotten these awesome shots … it was a photographer’s dream!
We then headed to the Grand Olympia for some family formals, cocktail hour, and an amazing meal.
I loved Sarah’s choice of decor. White and silver with just the right amount of bling. Very classy and timeless!
Some friendly neighborhood pyrotechnics started off the party …
Now this story I have to tell, cuz it’s one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. Sarah’s bridesmaid and cousin Jade spoke of how many many years back Sarah came to her Aunt (Jade’s mom) broken-hearted because she had a fight with her then boyfriend Jacob and she was afraid they wouldn’t work it out. Teenage Sarah insisted that Jacob was the love of her life and that she would never get over him. In an attempt to put things in perspective and make her feel better, Aunt Toni told Sarah that she would move on, and find someone else, and that Jacob wasn’t who she was going to marry anyway. And to prove her confidence, a bet was placed for $100 to be paid out the day Sarah married Jacob. The bet was recorded on a lined piece of paper and dated May 14, 2005. 8 years later … Aunt Toni had to pay out the $100 …
I had such a great time photographing your special day Jacob and Sarah! It was such a pleasure to work with you!!
Best wishes for your marriage and new life together.
xoxo,
Melissa
