Ashley and Braun were married at Edgewater Manor this past Saturday and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it!  Even though the weather wasn’t nice at all, they didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits.

Ashley talks about choosing her dress:
“I loved my dress! Felt so good in it!!  When I went shopping for it, I had tried on a few dresses and when the consultant brought over this one, I remember looking at it, thinking… nah, I don’t think I’ll like that, but I’ll try it on.  And when I stepped out and was blown away.  I tried a few other places because this Bridal store was in Ottawa and my mom wasn’t there to see it.  But I still had that one in mind.  I just felt like it was me.”

I asked Ashley what it was like to see Braun for the first time on their big day:
“Omgosh, this was the best moment.  There was so much happening when I walked down the isle, emotions going wild, looking at the guests and then a little bit of worry/concern because of Braun’s anxiety.  So I focus my main memory on the moment we had alone together for our first look.  I even saw his eyes tear up.  It was a very special moment.”

Tell me about your first dance and what song you chose:
“Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” by Andrea Bocelli – We wanted something a little different, but classic.  It is originally by Elvis, and my Nana loved Elvis.  I sadly lost my grandmother this past July, so it kind of felt like it was connected to her.  Also, Braun isn’t much of a dancer, and I actually taught ballroom dancing for a while.  Leading up to the wedding, all my family were asking if we were doing a choreographed dance.  And we weren’t, because teaching someone to ballroom dance, takes a long time, a year was not enough time… especially on top of everything else.  But just 2 days before the wedding Braun and I were just slow dancing to our song, and i said ok if you want you can spin me. (I would initiate it) and he said well how come you get to spin, I want to turn too!  So, when we did that on the actually wedding day.  It was really funny.
