Adriana & Edward have been SO patiently waiting for this blog post. I travelled to Southampton the week before last to capture their rustic nuptials and I had the BEST time!! My second shooter Tiffany and I fell in love with Southampton the second that we arrived … every ounce of my being wished it was just around the corner so I could shoot there all the time, but alas the 3 hour drive makes it not that easy I’m afraid. Adri and Eddy are a spectacular couple … they are the kind of people that I’m happy to now call friends! We started their day at Chantry Breezes Bed & Breakfast. Adriana and Eddy each had their own adorable little cabin to get ready in … it was paradise!
Adriana’s wedding binder … notice the “colourful” bride in the bottom corner … Adri … you’re awesome!!
One of the highlights of the day was watching Eddy figure out how to get his bowtie tied. There were multiple YouTube videos involved … most British … and the whole process may or may not have taken 27 minutes (my photos are timestamped, so there’s no disputing it Eddy, lol).
All joking aside though, you guys were honestly such a pleasure to work with … you had me laughing constantly!
Adriana had a special gift for Edward …
Walking into Adriana’s cabin I was greeted by her stunning custom gown with screen printed gold flowers and a lace overlay. So unique … and so completely Adriana!!!
Eddy’s gift to his bride was a gorgeous pearl set … it complimented her gown perfectly!
Eddy’s wedding band was his grandfathers and Adri’s engagement ring was her grandmothers … so sweet and meaningful!
Adriana my dear … you are GORGE!!!
When the girls were done getting ready we all walked down the street to the ceremony … yes you read that right, walked! 🙂 This little town is just gorgeous, and everything is so close together, so why not walk. We stopped at the florist on the way to pick up the bouquets. Adriana is the most down-to-earth practical bride I have ever met. I think we could all take some notes … every bride should have a relaxed and stress-free wedding day … it all comes down to attitude.
The ceremony took place at the Bruce County Museum …
Another highlight of the day, for me anyway, was when the barely married couple jumped the gun and kissed each other before they had been announced. You could tell it just happened naturally and was completely unplanned … so sweet … Adriana followed the kiss by stating “We do what we want!” … lol. That became our catch phrase for the rest of the day.
After the marriage register was signed they filled a special memory box with mementos from the wedding and their dating life. They plan to look through it together each anniversary …
After the ceremony we grabbed a few photos on the grounds of the museum and a delicious bite to eat as guests mingled.
And now for the beach … oh how I wish we had sand like this around here … *sigh*. We went with the bridal party to the Long Dock beach. The sun was beating down on us but we enjoyed every minute of it!
Such a FUN bridal party!! Love these guys!!
Our next photo location was Adriana’s family cottage. I would KILL to vacation here …
Then we went for a little stroll on our way to the reception …
Southampton Town Hall was the location for the reception …
I LOVED how each place setting was different … beautiful china and each setting unique.
This adorably mushy couple had 3 minutes alone together right before the grand entrance and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other … so incredibly romantic!
I always love when couples choose to do their first dance right away … look at all of that beautiful light flooding in … amazeballs!!
But wait … there’s more!! At sunset we snuck back to the beach for more pictures … it was a photographer’s dream!! I was in HEAVEN!!
I have no words …
All of their guests along with my second shooter walked to a closer beach to enjoy the sunset as well …
Edward and Adriana … I love you both dearly!! It was SUCH an honour and pleasure to get to know you both! I wish you all the happiness in the world as you start this next chapter of your lives. And when there’s babies … in a few years (no pressure) … I expect to see you again (no pressure) … LOL!!
“We do what we want!!!” ; )
xoxo,
Melissa

Fabulous! I was so fortunate to work with Adriana & Edward as they planned their reception at the Southampton Town Hall; indeed a wonderful couple and obviously their love for one another just oozes :).
You captured the quaintness and history of our town “Southampton” beautifully!
You are welcome to return at anytime.
Kindest regards
