July 30, 2013
I’ve had ideas for a while now of what I wanted my packaging to look like, and it took months of internet searching and shopping to find all of the perfect pieces, but I’m happy to say that I have finally completed my vision.
I know there are many photographers who follow my posts and I anticipate a bunch of questions as to where I got things, so I’m just going to itemize all of the info as we go.
These boxes were the hardest find out of everything. I knew I wanted kraft, and knew the dimensions I wanted, and I knew I wanted there to be a window. When I found these cupcake boxes with the scalloped edge window I was elated. I got these bad boys from Mr. TakeOut Bags. When you open them, there is just enough room for all of the goodies that I wanted to include.
I designed the stickers myself using Photoshop and ordered them through one of my absolute favourite suppliers … Moo.
My custom stationary (also designed by me in Photoshop) is just printed on semi-glossy card stock from my Canon printer at home. I feel it’s very important to make my client’s experience as personal as possible … my hand written notes are just one of things I like to do to make them feel special.
I am also in LOVE with my Moo mini cards. The best thing about these guys is that you can have an unlimited number of designs all within the same order. So I created 5 different designs and ordered them all together instead of having to order 100 of each design … Moo is awesome!!
I have recently started adding a little laugh in all of my wedding packages. Let’s be honest, everyone can’t ALWAYS look good. There’s always going to be that person that blinks in EVERY picture … there’s always going to be that face the bride made when her shot was too strong, or that guest that dances entirely inappropriately … these moments may not be classy wedding memories, but they are usually quite entertaining, and I hope that my couples get a laugh or two out of my blooper reels.
I knew I was going to need black DVD sleeves with windows to complete the look, so I just did a quick search on Ebay and viola.
Custom shaped business cards are so fun … checkout JukeBox for some great products.
My USBs were my most important find. I knew I wanted to switch from DVDs to USBs for many reasons. Giving my clients 4 separate DVDs because I couldn’t fit all of the pictures on one just seemed silly and redundant. Also, it’s 2013, and I need to get with the times. USBs are what all the cool kids are doing, lol. I got these custom printed USBs from USB Direct and you have the option to add on the fancy little custom printed tin. Great find!
And of course there just had to be a treat in the packages! But it HAD to match my branding … lol. These tropical fruit tasting jelly beans came from trusty ol’ Bulk Barn.
I wanted little round candy tins with windows so that they would match the USB tins … I found these guys at SKS Bottle & Packaging. Add a sticker to the top, and there you go, branded candy.
And last but not least I wanted to include a little gift from me to my couple just thanking them for choosing me. These matching accordion mini albums are perfect brag books to carry around in your purse. And there are 3 so that the moms can each have one too. These little guys can be found at lots of different vendors, just do a google search for “accordion mini album”.
The finishing touches are my ivory crinkle paper that I got from ULINE and my assortment of ribbons and twines that I just picked up at Michaels.
Hope you enjoyed seeing a little bit of the behind the scenes here at Moments by Melissa Miller.
xoxo,
Melissa
