The weekend before last I had the pleasure of sharing in Luke & Christina’s big day! My trainee Abby and I started by meeting the girls at Maison Fritz Salon & Spa where they were getting their hair and makeup done. I LOVE this salon for taking photographs … I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … such good light! And the staff are phenomenal as well!!
Just prior to getting her makeup done Christina’s maid of honour presented her with a special scrapbook made up of letters from all of her bridesmaids as well as her soon-to-be hubby. Christina was in tears the whole time, which is why she received it prior to makeup application. Her friends know her very well!! Hehe.
While we were with the girls, my second shooter Shawn met up with the guys where they were getting ready.
After the salon the girls went back to Casablanca Winery Inn in Grimsby to get dressed.
Absolutely love these two! They had us in stitches all day! : )
Wow Christina … GORGE!!!
The guys met up with us at Casablanca where we set up the first look. Even though Luke and Christina opted to do their formal photos after ceremony, they still wanted that special moment just the two of them … I love when couples do this!! It’s just so freakin’ romantic!!
After the first look we all made our way to the church for the ceremony. Christina and Luke had a traditional Ukrainian ceremony which was so awesome to see. I have never shot one quite like this before and it was just beautiful!!
After some family formals at the church we went to Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington for some bridal party shots. This place is always so beautiful! Never gets old for me. : ) There were quite a few other bridal parties there that day but we managed to elbow our way through and snatch all of the best spots!!
Ugh … you guys … I just can’t …
It’s party time!! The reception was held at Winona Vine Estates. It was my first time shooting at this venue and I was quite impressed.
One great thing about this venue is that the side of the building is lined with gorgeous big trees and nothing is blocking the horizon … a recipe for some pretty fantastic golden hour pictures!! We snuck out just before dessert to grab these shots … 10 minutes WELL spent!!
It was truly a pleasure working with you Luke and Christina!! I’m kinda sad that the wedding is over …
Don’t be a stranger ok!!
xoxo, Melissa
