Today I had a lovely (much overdue) date day with my Hubby.  The peanut stayed home with Grandma … and we got to enjoy some grown-up hang out time.  Those of you who don’t have kids yet … please don’t take grown-up hang out time for granted … it’s a rare commodity when you become a parent … oh so very rare.

I LOVE the zoo … I love animals, big and small … except for birds, birds can’t be trusted.  Penguins are awesome though, I think it’s because they can’t fly.  It’s the flying birds that make me nervous.  All other animals can only attack from the front, from behind, or from the sides … birds can attack from ABOVE!!!!  It’s an unfair advantage … enough said.

Anyway … back to the zoo … we had an awesome time!  Half of these pictures were taken by the Hubbs … makes me so proud!  Hehe.

And no trip to the zoo is complete without an unobstructed view of a hippopotamus bum.
