How Hillary and Marcus met …
“We met 10 years ago, while we were working at a local Irish Pub. My older sister got me the job, and she was friends with Marcus first. We were friends/ co-workers for about four years, while we each had different partners at the time. As the years went by, those relationships ended and I asked Marcus to meet me at a bar downtown that I was at with my girlfriends. He walked me home that night, and we had a debate about the best directions to take. Marcus lost that bet, and owed me a kiss. Since that night, we have been by each others side, and here we are now 7 years later.”

How Marcus proposed …
“Oh my goodness, I love this story! It was Christmas morning, and we were opening presents just Marcus Mabel and I in our home. Marcus asked for me to open this long thin rectangular present last, and I thought nothing of it. When I opened the present, it was a calendar that he makes me every year full of photos of Mabel, and my family and friends. I love how personal this gift is from him, and he includes special events coming up in that year. As I was looking through every month, it came to December and the picture on the calendar was a picture of my engagement ring saying “Celebrating our One Year Engagement”. I instantly started to cry, turned to look at Marcus and he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. He managed to combine two of my favourite things Christmas and our dog Mabel, and asked me to be his partner for life, and I could not have had a better Christmas.”
