I can’t wait for Melissa and Morgan’s wedding next year!!
Melissa’s version on how her and Morgan met …
“When everyone asks us this, it is really hard to pinpoint the exact moment. We grew up in the same neighbourhood and were in the same grade through elementary and high school. I can’t remember every moment in elementary school but we were friends all through school and became best friends in high school and hung out almost every day. Morgan had always liked me, but I was afraid of ruining our friendship despite many friends giving their unwanted advice ;). The way things worked out I wasn’t going to have a date to our graduation dance and Morgan didn’t want me to feel like I was alone so he bought me a corsage and made sure that I wasn’t left out all night (Shoutout to Nicole for letting me share her date). After that our friendship blossomed into a relationship and here we are 6 years later enaged to each other’s best friend 🙂”
I also asked Melissa about how Morgan proposed …
“Getting engaged was something that we had talked about when I would be finishing up my degree at university, so to say that I wasn’t expecting it would be a lie. But, I definitely didn’t expect it when it actually happened. Morgan and I made our way to his cottage for the July long weekend just as we had done the last few years. It was a miserable rainy weekend (I bring the rain every time). On Sunday, we had a break of sunshine and Morgan asked if I wanted to go for a boat ride and take some photos together. I noticed Morgan was dressed much nicer than our usual cottage packing and we went out to a spot on the lake that frequently go to together. It’s a small quiet part of the lake where everything is so peaceful and the scenery is beautiful. Morgan plugged his phone in to the speakers to play some music (In Case You Didn’t Know – Brett Young) and began talking about the first time he ever showed me that spot and reminded me how I felt like I was in a movie and it was so nice to be with each other. Then Morgan got down on one knee and the rest seems like a blur. It was perfect and beatiful.”
