I had the BEST time with Kayla and Nico last weekend!  Beautiful weather, beautiful locations, amazing people … what more could a wedding photographer ask for?!

I know they’ve been anxiously waiting for these teaser images while they are enjoying their honeymoon in Aruba … so without further ado …

I was blown away by the work of Sola Flowers!  Unbelievable!!

Kayla talks about her dress:
“I absolutely loved my dress. It was not a style that I was looking for when I started dress shopping. However the sales associate was determined to get me in this particular dress even though it was not the correct size. She was so sure that this would be the dress for me that she struggled with me to get into in, she even cut the back of the dress to get me into it. As soon as my mom, sister and mother-in-law saw me in this dress, we all cried tears of happiness.”

I asked Kayla to describe the emotions of seeing Nico for the first time on the big day …
“Nico and I saw each other for the first time at the front of the church after we walked down the aisle with our parents. It was like no one else was there in that moment. We both got a chance to check each other out in our wedding suit and dress. We were both fighting back tears of joy!”

Tell me what your favourite moment of the day was:
“We both agree that one of our favourite moments from the wedding day was when we exchanged our vows at the alter. Nico surprised me with his own personalized version of our vows which almost brought me to tears.”

Tell us about your awesome crew:
“My bridesmaids consisted of my 2 younger sisters, so that was a no brainer. My sisters and I are all very close. And my 3rd bridesmaid is a friend I met in elementary school. Our friendship has lasted over 15 years and she has always been there for me. Nico chose 3 friends who he has been friends with since he moved to Canada. They all share the love of soccer and that’s where their friendship started.”

When Nico and Kayla came in for their final meeting before the wedding they told me that they had been practicing for their dance in their tiny kitchen … well done you two!  This was one of the sweetest first dances I have ever seen!!

“Our first dance song was a special version of Ed Sheeran’s Perfect with a Spanish bachata twist.”
