Last weekend I had the pleasure of documenting Sean and Nora’s wedding day. I fell in love with this couple right away when I met them a year and a half ago at the Hamilton bridal show … I’m so honoured that they chose me to share in their big day with them! We started the day at Sean’s parents’ house where the guys were getting ready.
Sean also had a bunch of his buddies join him there for some drinks and pictures. I’m sure he would have loved to have all of them as groomsmen but Nora and I both agreed that 12 groomsmen is just too many, lol. Shows what kind of guy Sean is though … that’s a lot of really close friends!!
Then we made our way to Sean and Nora’s house where Nora and the girls were getting ready.
Just look at this GORGEOUS dress!!!
A huge bouquet filled with nothing but peonies. My favourite!!!!
Really though Nora, could you BE any more beautiful????
When everyone was ready we made our way to the venue, Beverly Golf and Country Club … and that’s when things started to get real interesting …
This next image of Nora walking down the stairs at Beverly was taken at 3:40pm … the ceremony was scheduled to be at 4:00. There were threats of rain all day, but with only 20 minutes remaining and a blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds, we were sure we were in the clear for a sunny summer ceremony out on the lawn.
This next image was taken at 3:53pm … THIRTEEN minutes later and the sky looked like it was going to open up and swallow us whole. Staff and guests quickly lugged all of the chairs from the lawn to the covered patio. Then the rain hit …
I don’t know where you were last Saturday afternoon, but if you were anywhere near a window you probably remember that it hit HARD … like raining sideways hard …
We were sure we were going to have to bring the ceremony completely indoors, which is not what Nora or I wanted!!
Experience has taught me though, when it rains that hard and that fast, it’s not going to last for long. I asked that we wait just 15 minutes with fingers crossed and some prayer …
And sure enough, at 4:19pm, we started the processional on the patio and the sun started coming out again …
Was it a dramatic half hour? YES! Was it a stressful half hour? YES! Was it totally worth it? YES!!!!
Sean’s daughter Ella was the ring girl and she did a fantastic job!!
You guys are honestly the cutest ever!!!
You would never know looking at this picture that just an hour before everyone was huddled inside watching a monsoon drench the golf course!!
What a unique idea. I can definitely say this is the first time I’ve seen records used as a guest book! Love it!
Nora & Sean, I had an absolute blast working with you both!! It was such a pleasure getting to know you throughout the planning process. : )
Have a FANTASTIC time on your honeymoon … and travel safe!!
I know you’ll have a long and happy marriage! High school sweethearts always do!
xoxo, Melissa
