I met Zach and Shea at Paletta Mansion last week for their engagement session. Third time was a charm. We got rained out the first two times, but it all turned out fine because we finally got a fantastic golden evening.
Shea describes how Zach proposed…
“Zach and I knew we were meant to be from the very beginning. We had been best friends through high school and started dating soon after. We always discussed marriage and knew that’s where we were headed and because of this I knew it was coming. I didn’t know how but I had an idea it was coming. A week before the proposal Zach showed up at my door with flowers and a handwritten letter he read to me then he asked me out for a special date the following Sunday. Every day that week he continually showed up at my door with surprises like my favourite candy. When Sunday came he brought me a dress and told me he was taking me out for a fancy dinner. On our way to dinner he stopped by Dundurn Castle saying he’d like to go for a walk before dinner. As we walked the pathway became covered in rose petals and my favourite song, “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley, was playing. He asked me to dance. When the song finished he got down on one knee to propose. There was a moment of panic where he couldn’t find the ring in his pocket and I teased him for “losing” it. Once he found it he asked me to be his wife and I excitedly said yes. Soon after our friends came out as they had captured the entire moment for us. We went out for dinner and then came home to a surprise engagement party.”
