Art is intended to be displayed. You wouldn’t go to your local HomeSense, find a painting you love, and then ask if they could sell you a digital copy of it to keep in a folder on your computer … that would be ridiculous, right? You likely also wouldn’t invest hundreds of dollars in beautiful content just to post on your social media for it to be buried and forgotten in feeds mere hours later. So then why do we do that with professional artwork of our most cherished memories and loved ones?
I know this mindset resonates true to the majority of people, myself included. It’s just become the standard practice, the norm. With smart phones being attached to everyone’s hips it just feels normal to keep everything in a digital place because let’s face it, it’s convenient. And most photographers have subscribed themselves to the same model, because that’s what people have been trained to expect. Clients pay a session fee, they get digital files, they look at them a few times, maybe print out a couple of 5x7s at Walmart that look nothing like they should, and that’s the end of it. And all I can think is … what a huge waste!
I can’t speak for every photographer out there, but when I look through my lens and see your child giggling, or the way their little hand fits around your pinky finger, or when I capture a man looking at his bride with the kind of admiration and contentment that you can’t put into words … I envision that being on their wall, in their living room, hanging over the couch, where it can be enjoyed and preserved and smiled on every single day. That’s what I see when I look through my lens. And I want my clients to see that too.
I’m so proud to offer my clients a curated collection of the most beautiful products to display their cherished artwork in their homes. I have sourced products from all over the world (Ireland, Australia, Italy and California to be exact), because I wanted to offer my clients the best in design and quality.
Wall Art
I offer seven different types of wall art including deckled edge (hand torn) framed prints, mounted acrylic and custom float frames in 10 colour options. No matter what style your home is, there is a perfect option for you that will look absolutely stunning in your space. One of my favourite features about offering wall art is the design process. I have a fantastic program that can take an image of a room in your actual home and show you exactly how the art would look hanging on your very own wall. We can adjust the image, the material, the size, the mat thickness, you name it. This allows you to make a confident investment decision that you will be so excited to get up on your wall in real life. And we will do all of this together at your in-person ordering appointment, I will take care of all of the details.
So you’ve done your session and you come in to view the images. There’s about 40 in your final collection and you love them all (if I’ve done my job right that is, lol). How are you possibly going to narrow it down to just a few to hang on your walls. You need them all, or at least most of them … you simply can’t part with them. That’s where the bulk item options come in.
Collections
My favourite product has got to definitely be the Collection Boxes. These gorgeous handmade Timber folio boxes come all the way from Australia. They are available in 3 beautiful wood tones and are complete with an acrylic peekaboo lid. Inside the box you will find your favourite images printed to 7×10 and matted to 11×14 in archival museum grade mats. These boxes are simply stunning! You can keep the matted prints in the box and flip through them like an unbound book, or you can frame some of them (individually or in a gallery grouping), or you can even gift some to loved ones. The versatility of this keepsake product is unlike anything else that I offer.
Heirloom Albums
The other bulk option would be the beautiful Heirloom Albums. These keepsake albums are assembled by hand using curated, high-quality materials and are available in a large selection of luxurious cover options. Each album is complete with a matching hand-crafted archival storage box for that added layer of protection. There are 2 main sizes available depending on the number of images you choose, and you also have the option to add on a duplicate mini album which makes a wonderful keepsake for grandparents. This heirloom piece is something that will be passed down through the generations.
Digital Files
My dream is to see my clients’ artwork proudly displayed in their home for them to enjoy each and every day, but of course I understand that you are also going to want to have digital copies for sharing on social media. With each image that is purchased as a product, you will also receive a complimentary digital copy presented on a beautiful crystal and walnut USB. These digital files are complimentary and are not available for purchase a la carte.
